About us

Every child can be a reader

Spelling for Hope offers holistic, 1-on-1 reading support for autistic and neurodivergent children across Toronto — in their homes, on their terms, and built around what makes them light up.

Head Teacher

Mike K

Mike leads Spelling for Hope’s teaching approach. He reviews every intake personally, leads every Literacy Fit call, and builds each child’s reading plan with their tutor — so the person who arrives at your door already knows your child’s interests, communication style and sensory needs.

His focus is simple: pair the structured literacy instruction that research shows works with the patience, flexibility and respect autistic children deserve.

What we believe

Our values

Presume competence

Every child can learn to read. Our job is to find the way in — not to decide what a child can’t do.

Connection before correction

Trust and regulation come first. A child who feels safe is a child who can learn.

Parents are the experts

You know your child best. We listen first, share everything, and work as part of your child’s team.

Honesty about funding

We’ll always tell you plainly what your funding can and can’t cover — even when the answer isn’t what we’d like it to be.
