Why North York families choose in-home reading support

  • No fighting traffic on the 401 or Yonge Street after school — your tutor comes to you
  • Lessons happen where your child is most regulated: their own home, their own routines
  • Your tutor sees what works at home and can share ideas you can use between sessions
  • Siblings, pets and favourite comfort items can stay close by

The Spelling for Hope approach

Holistic, structured literacy — at your kitchen table

Structured literacy

Orton-Gillingham principles and UFLI Foundations, taught explicitly and multisensorily.

Regulation first

Visual schedules, movement breaks and session lengths that fit your child.

Interest-led

Line 1 and Line 4 superfans welcome — we’ll happily write decodable stories about the subway.

Our promise to you

The First-Session Fit Guarantee

Rapport comes before reading. If your child and their tutor don’t connect in the very first session, that session is free — or we’ll match you with a different tutor right away. Your choice, no awkward conversations.

North York FAQ

Do you travel to all of North York?

We serve most of North York. Add your nearest intersection to the intake and we’ll confirm availability before your call.

Do you work with my child’s school?

Yes. With your permission, we can share progress notes with your child’s TDSB, TCDSB or private school teacher and IEP team.

Can I use funding?

Some families use Jordan’s Principle, the Medical Expense Tax Credit or other options. Standalone tutoring isn’t an OAP core clinical service, so we’ll explain your options honestly.
